Immanuel<\/strong>
\nThe angels wait with joyful anticipation,
\ndarkness covers the earth
\nthe glory of God is hidden
\nveiled within a virgin womb.
\nO come O come Immanuel,
\nGod with us.<\/p>\n

The shepherds, simple, hardy men,
\nguard their flocks in the hills
\nbelow them Bethlehem sleeps
\nunaware of eternity unfolding.
\nO come O come Immanuel,
\nGod with us.<\/p>\n

Above them the stars shine on
\ncold and bleak from afar,
\nYet the one who made those stars
\nwas to be born in a stable dark.

A child is born, a son is given
\nand the world is changed forever,
\nall heaven above rejoices,
\nbelow, the darkness trembles.
\nO come O come Immanuel,

Now the eternity of longing ended,
\nsings forth from the angel host;
\n“Glory to God in the highest,
\non earth peace to men of God’s will”.

A Christmas Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Come and see the babe sleeping so quietly, softly slumbering in a bed of straw. See the man silent before his accusers tormented with a crown of thorns
\n <\/em><\/p>\n

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord <\/em><\/p>\n

Come and see the shepherds bowing low leaving their sheep in the fields.
\nSee, bowed under the cross so cruel, the paschal lamb climbing the hill
\n <\/em><\/p>\n

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord <\/em><\/p>\n

Come see a child cradled with love in his maiden mother’s arms.
\nSee the mother weeping as she holds the broken body of her beloved son.
\n <\/em><\/p>\n

O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord <\/em><\/p>\n

Come see the star brightly lighting the way to the infant king.<\/p>\n

See the darkness that falls on the world as the “King of the Jews” expires<\/p>\n

Come hear the angels singing their praises as God’s only son is born.
\nHear God’s son cry in death’s agony Father, why have you forsaken me?

Come see a virgin’s joy at the birth of her blessed, innocent, child.
\nWitness satan and death’s defeat as the Lord of life dies.
